Usually, you wouldn't dare to dream that a dingy old place like this could ever be transformed into a perfect apartment. It was empty, bare, dark and, quite frankly, miserable. No one wanted to inhabit it; its kitchen almost didn't exist and, even though it had lots of space, it had nothing else to tempt anyone to step foot inside.

Today, we reveal its brand new facelift. This dull little place has been brought into the 21st century—and it suits it perfectly. There's colour, light and energy now where there was once shadow and coldness. South Korean interior designers Roha are the saviours who made the apartment into the ideal nest for a couple or newly weds with their intelligent designs and use of space. We adore this inspirational transformation!

Before: boring bathroom

An uninspiring sight, with no personal touches. The bathroom was a sad view for the tenants—it felt very formal and average.

After: brand new and beautified

Roha designers have completely turned it around; the retro bath tub and sink bring new style into the room, as well as set its black and white colour scheme.

There's an over-bath shower which saves on space, and there's a new mirror framed in a thick black. The best part is the new tiled floor! With small patterns bringing a splash of art into the room.

Before: dark and dull

Empty and desolate. The room used to be dark and miserable, and felt totally mundane and lifeless. It's transformation is amazing…

After: an awesome bedroom

The new bedroom is a haven of peace and space. The king-sized bed is an awesome addition for a couple's room, and is the majority of the furniture itself. On the opposite side of the room is only a TV and a small set of drawers, but aside from that, the room has plenty of room to show off that zig-zag patterned wood flooring.

The room is now bright and airy, thanks to the huge windows letting in all possible light. A particular favourite in this room, however, is the interesting design of the ceiling light against the black paint of the ceiling.

Before: empty space

As we can see, the apartment had tons of potential, but had somehow managed to slip through. There was a abundance of space to play with and those gorgeous windows providing an incredible view over the city.

After: spacious lounge

We love huge, open spaces, especially in the home. The apartment certainly doesn't need walls to partition off parts of this room, and now shares all its light between the living room and the kitchen area.

The designers have been reserved in their approach to furnishing this room and have kept the style quite minimal to maintain that air of freedom and space, whilst still getting the essentials and a few decorative elements in there, too.

Before: tiny kitchen

A room that could only fit one person is not ideal for a shared home. This area was bland and almost useless, except for the tiny hob. It's brand new image is an amazing change!

After: fresh new look

The new kitchen is cool and modern, with a snazzy kitchen island which holds the oven, hob and a slim kitchen fan. The colours are reflective of the style of the rest of the apartment and it comes with all the modern tech and gadgets that a newly wed couple needs!
