This home was designed by Valencia-based design studio, ARQUBO architects. The practice provides a wide range of architectural and building services. Increasing demand has enabled them to expand their field of work to include site management and turnkey products.

From new residential construction, expansion work, comprehensive rehabilitation, facade rehabilitation, structural rehabilitation, energy renewal, industrial projects, consulting—you name it and they've probably done it, or could!

Let's take a look at this residential abode to garner an idea of their distinct style…

The street facade

It combines the sleekest in modern design with the traditional typology of a pitched roof. Although, from the street, we barely see this profile and it appears as a boxing volume, its roof receding into the distance.

The exterior is an interlocking composition of black and white, with the odd timber and glass element. It is a striking and sophisticated material palette; one which dramatically contrasts the rich terracottas of its neighbours.

The other facade

From this angle, we see the pitched roof peeking out from behind the adjacent building and the tree canopy.

This, more private, facade is significantly more glassy than the others and offers views out past the rooftops. Lined with generous balconies, it opens to the exterior and provides outdoor living space.

The entry

The front entry is raised above ground level and is accessed by timber steps that are supported by a steel structure. It is the epitome of sleek design and sets the tone for what one will encounter in the home's interior.

The entry door also dons timber: a more homely contrast to the sharp black and white colour palette.

The interior stair

Not too dissimilar to the one we just saw on the exterior, the timber and steel structure traverses the three levels.

The open constructions allows for visibility through the space and  imbues the solid construction with a lighter and airy feel.

The kitchen

The kitchen opts for the style du jour: Minimalism. The cabinetry is rational, clean lines abound, and there's not a handle in sight—bar the fridge handle. It's all black, white and wood. There's even space for a dining table which is incorporated into the design.
