We love to show you homes that are innovative in contemporary design, but today we are celebrating all things natural with this home in the Ukraine!

This project, brought to us by the interior architects at Podium, is a nice and cosy example of a rustic home that's filled with an array of indoor plants and a mix of vintage finds. The colour scheme and materials used support this back-to-basics sentiment that we just can't get enough of, and every single room is full of natural light. One of the things we love (and we're sure you'll love it too) is the absolutely uncluttered look of it all.

So let's enjoy the fresh and cool look of this wholesome home!

Warm and welcoming

Upon entering the home, we are overwhelmed with feelings of warmth and delight. The light wooden tones that command this area contribute greatly to these feelings, and they're amplified only by the cosy fireplace, plush furnishings, and mellow colour palette throughout.

The pendant light hanging over the twin coffee tables sheds a delicate light over this quiet gathering space. A sense of the natural fills us with joy around every corner, and we have that amazing plant wall to thank for this. Let's have a closer look at it, shall we?

A living wall

This little gem we see here is what we in the biz call a living wall or a vertical garden, and it's exactly what each name suggests. This room comes to life with these natural elements, and what better way could we bring in freshness and vitality?

Lavender, spider plants, ivy, and golden pothos are just a few of the plant varieties on this lovely wooden shelf, and in addition to being a drop-dead gorgeous design element, these indoor plants also help you breathe!

Timeless dining

In the dining room, we have a rich variety of vintage pieces, from the old-fashioned, elaborate mirror to the off-white extension of the kitchen countertop below it, even to the dining table set itself. The floral patterns on the upholstery duplicate the organic theme of the living area, and here, we see a little variety in our wooden tones.

It's this variation in colour, pattern, and texture that makes this home so interesting. The architects here matched the wooden undertones and grains perfectly to create the perfect warm, rustic atmosphere.

In the kitchen

Here in the kitchen, we see even more examples of excellent colour choices. The white cabinetry works well with the wood and the navy blue on the walls. It gives our eyes a nice break from the textures.

We just love the country-style tile backsplash over the sink in the kitchen. It brings a real sense of homeyness to the space.

On the other side of the table

On the other side of the dining room table, we find a similar shelf to the one we saw that holds the plant wall. This time, the shelf is only decorated with one or two house plants, while the rest of the space is dedicated to organising files and glamorously displaying knick-knacks.

From this angle, we can also get a great view of the large glass doors leading to the exterior, which bring in loads of natural light and a calming tranquility.

What a view!

We'd like to leave you off with a better view of this scenery. What better way to enjoy a hot meal than to sit in your cosy dining room and watch the leaves change and fall outside? This picturesque view of Mother Nature is enough to soothe even the most vexed souls. That, and the warm features we've been raving about this whole time.
