Here at homify we absolutely love small homes. The benefits are endless; they are easier to maintain and keep clean, they are convenient, they are generally less expensive than their larger counterparts, you can fit them on any available plot of land, and they are just so cosy! Traditionally small houses have been used for holiday getaways or retirement homes, but increasingly they are becoming standard for any type of homeowner, and today we're going to show you why that is so exciting.

What exactly constitutes small depends on the person, but today we're going to be looking at homes that are under 100 square metres. We're going to look at how architects have made the most of the space, with resourceful planning and innovative space saving solutions. For example, due to the limitations on size these homes usually featuring an open plan living space, which can be a challenge to design, but when it's done right it looks amazing, and it's a wonderful lifestyle. Another common solution is to incorporate the surroundings so that these homes have a fantastic outside element such as a patio or deck, expanding the size of the home to as far as the eye can see.
