Industrial style interior design with its raw, exposed materials such as weathered wood or concrete remains ever popular and certainly appeals to the trendiest of hipsters, and undoubtedly it has been used to produce some fantastic homes. However, as with any style it’s not for everybody, and industrial décor in particular has the potential to be quite polarising, as it’s such a striking style it’s fairly difficult to achieve a subtle industrial look.
Difficult, but not impossible. Today we’re taking a tour of a luxurious loft apartment in which the interior architects have incorporated industrial elements in a superbly subtle way, so as to achieve a specific look without it being overpowering. Let’s see how it’s been done…
As we enter the abode we pass through a hallway pleasantly composed of wooden elements and neutral tones that give it a warm, natural feel; not the atmosphere of a typical industrial style home.
As we continue on we come to the kitchen, and here the industrial elements come into play. The steel of the counter and accompanying, rugged looking stools have an undeniably industrial vibe, as well as the exposed brickwork – a very common trait of industrial style.
However, the presence of lighter wooden tones, plants and a charming chalk board blend with these harsher elements to balance them out and create a more subtle, warm environment.
The kitchen looks on through the open-plan space to the living room that’s beautifully bathed in natural light thanks to the large window directly ahead.
The soft, comforting neutral tones and textiles provide the perfect balance to the harsh exposed brickwork on the other side of the room, and the whole effect is topped off by the addition of a few potted plants that bring life and colour into the space.
The bathroom exudes luxury thanks to the marble effect walls and crisp white surfaces. Furthermore, the relatively compact space feels much larger thanks to the superb lighting and sink to ceiling mirror.
Finally we come to the bedroom, and once again we find that a brilliant balance has been achieved between the harsh exposed brickwork on one side of the room, and the softer wooden panelling on the other. In between floor to ceiling windows flood the space with light, creating a beautiful bright room.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our tour of this brilliant home with its breath-taking balance between industrial style and cosy comfort. Check out this super stylish loft for more incredible industrial themed décor.
