This home was designed by Studio Dom Arquitectura, an experienced and talented architecture firm located in Barcelona. They have extensive experience across a wide range of fields, from new builds to renovations and refurbishments, residential to commercial, even turning their hands to landscaping interventions through and ephemeral installations.
The firm's philosophy asserts that they are interested 'in architecture that conveys simple and smart feelings'. The creation of sophisticated and atmospheric spaces is achieved through the clever use of materials and lighting, amid other design feats.
Additionally, all of their projects have a close relationship with their environment and, further, they focus on crafting ecological architecture.
This home, that graces our screens today, is certainly no exception. Let's take a closer look, so we can garner a better appreciation for the Dom Arquitectura's commendable design finesse…
The large living area is open and freely flowing. It establishes a wonderful social heart of the home; whether it's a quiet night in with the family or an evening spent entertaining guests, this space is perfect!
The material and colour palettes are achingly simple: white walls, timber floor, and monochromatic furnishings. The result is a refined and sophisticated interior that is at once contemporary as it is classic.
The kitchen borders on a minimalist aesthetic and a country classic look. The white cabinetry features bevelled detailing and, believe it or not, handles! They have become a rarity in most modern kitchens. The material palette is about as simple as they come, though: white surface fronts and timber tops. The dining furniture is contemporary and sleek, finishing off the space perfectly.
The bedroom employs a similar material palette. The timber feature along the back wall form a headboard upon which the bedside lamps are also mounted. Storage has been cleverly designed and integrated to maintain a clutter-free space. It's simple, but it's beautiful—a little really can go a long way!
The bathroom has a stronger, darker, and slightly more masculine look. Here, black elements are drawn in to accompany the white and timber surfaces. The design is sleek and rational, and the fixtures state-of-the-art. The large mirror above the floating vanity reflects the space making it appear even larger and more spacious than it already is.
Before we say adieu to this stunning interior, let's quickly revisit the living area and this time take a close look at the furniture. Each piece in the home has been carefully selected and arranged to achieve a highly finished look. The simple colours allow the designs to reign supreme, and that they do: sophisticated and edgy, the furniture really makes this space what it is.
