There's nothing more comforting than the thought of curling up by the fire in a cabin in the woods as the snow falls outside painting the beautiful scenery in pure white. It's a picture right out of a fairy tale that the designers of today's fabulous home have magicked right off the page and into reality!

The home itself is a really interesting update on the traditional cabin. It's a long timber structure, with plenty of windows to admire the view, and an outside patio area so that you can sit in the brisk winter air to drink a warm cup of cocoa and take in the environment. The inside is quaint and endearing, with a shabby chic charm complemented by children's toys and vintage furniture, making this the perfect getaway for young family wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. Believe us; you're going to want to see this!

A magical getaway

This really is the stuff of dreams, a gorgeous cabin surrounded by snow. The long cabin has a traditional pitched roof broken up at the halfway mark by a small patio with an overhang.

The home is all about making the most of its stunning surroundings, but it's obvious that protection from the elements is needed in this snowy wood, so all of the terraces are covered, and the front patio has a hanging light shade that mirrors the one inside, ensuring that you can still enjoy the winter air after the sun goes down.

The side patio

What's really unique about the exterior of the home is the contrasting hues of wood, one almost black, while the other mirrors the surrounding trees. This provides both visual contrast and thematic continuity, looking rustic, but with a keen eye for contemporary design concepts.

The rear facade

While it may look this home is hidden in the wilderness, there is actually a boundary fence marking the property, allowing for plenty of windows in the home to admire the view while safe in the knowledge that their privacy is secured.

The back of the home features symmetrical windows that follow the pitch of the roof, while the centre panel has a unique timber pattern that is all about maintaining warmth through the winter seasons.

The entrance

The long sweeping white curtains and the elegant lampshade combine with the more rustic elements of the decor for a shabby chic interior that's both sophisticated and fun. The home really makes the most of its symmetry, with the eye drawn to the full length of the cabin by the pitched ceiling.

The fireplace

At the front of the home large windows look out to the patio area. You can see outside that the weather has turned, meaning you can soak up the sun dining outside. Inside we find a beautiful vintage fireplace, obviously essential during winter, but also perfectly complementing the decor. The hardwood floors have a green hue to contrast the rest of the home, and add colour to the quaint white interior.

The bedroom

The bedrooms are simple in design, just as a holiday home should be, but the decor does have a number of interesting quirks such as that funky light shade, and the yellow details. Every room in this home is oriented towards outside, featuring large windows or access to the deck.

The guestroom

The guest bedroom features an interesting contrast of white and timber, while the curtains match the linens to tie the aesthetic together.

The playroom

This really is the perfect home for a young family, with an adorable playroom leading out to the backyard. With the snow melted the grass is lush and green, and we can see there's a sizeable garden running along the boundary to keep the parents busy on the weekends.

What a magnificent home, rustic, homely, and ethereal. If you love homes built from hearty natural materials, then this home is going to blow you away!
