Known as Hong Kong’s ‘back garden,’ in the district of Sai Kung stands one of the city’s most modern and luxurious mansions. The home is approximately 423sqm in size and includes a five metre swimming pool, a glass garage, four bedrooms, two spacious living rooms, a high-tech kitchen, pristine views, and much more over the expanse of four storeys. Its aesthetic is unquestionably chic while also capturing the utilitarian nature of its industrial style design. It defies conventional models of space and layout. For example, the home’s garage is embedded as a fixture within the interior of the ground floor separated only by a transparent glass barrier.

The house is comfortable for a family and certainly a gem in this neighbourhood. To think that this home was once a restricted split level is mind boggling thanks to the exquisite architectural transformation executed by Millimeter Interior Design Limited. Come with us on a tour of this jaw-dropping dream home.

Breathtaking views speak for themselves

Starting with the minimalist master bedroom, we get a sense of the largess of this beautiful home. The elongated bedside tables and artwork pull the eye towards the breath-taking balcony. The view is undoubtedly spectacular and the hues from the outdoor scenery at dusk complement the blacks, greys and whites of the interior perfectly allowing the natural beauty of the surrounding area to speak for itself.

Gleaming marble with warm wooden details

In perfect display of modern style, the bathroom is merely separated from the master bedroom by a wall of glass that mirrors that which leads to the outdoor balcony. The grey marble is positively luxurious and the wooden details add a welcome touch of cosiness. This layout redefines conventional notions of separation and space. The couple’s sinks and accompanying shower unit make for an added romantic feel to this trendy master bathroom.

Mod workspace

To keep up with the lavish lifestyle that undoubtedly accompanies this home, the owners must have a place to get work done, but it is clear that they do so in style. I mean, even their workout equipment looks sleek and futuristic! The wide desktop and A-frame base make for a raw and minimal place to sit and check things off their to-do lists. There is ample space for storage with the floor-to-ceiling shelves without them being too in your face. We can catch a glimpse of yet more stunning large windows, which surely add another level of illumination to this spacious home office. The addition of a few small plants also gives the office a more organic feel.

Space to relax

As we head downstairs we are met with this sitting room complete with a grand, comfy sofa. The minimalist design prevails here too. The successful cultivation of this style is apparent through the fact that what decorative pieces there are, really pop against the neutral greys and whites in the room. The two yellow pillows are a fabulous addition to the couch, and the artwork is showcased without rival. The deep blue area rug adds an air of calm in such a way that really rounds out the room and attests to its purpose as a place of relaxation.

Perfect pool area

The elongated pool echoes the design and décor of the master bedroom. Only this time, it directs the eye to the lovely elevated sitting area, which is ideal for sunbathing or enjoying a drink on a balmy evening with friends. The surrounding landscape is lush and the large potted tropical plants make every day spent out here feel like a mini vacation.

Chrome kitchen

The kitchen exudes a metallic sheen that fits nicely with the rest of the home. The-cutting edge appliances are housed neatly in the ample drawers, which are installed discretely beneath the counters. Though it is narrow, there is plenty of counter space too as a result of the kitchen’s rectangular layout. The open plan of the entire ground floor makes the kitchen’s placement imbedded below the main level feel innovative and still connected to the rest of the home.

Flaunt it if you got it

Just beyond the kitchen is the garage, which is set on a mounted pedestal that showcases the family’s shining, crimson sports car. The red plays nicely with the colours of the space further exemplifying how the home is perfectly matched to its owner’s tastes. When the family is eating, there are matching grey curtains to veil the garage. The neat dining area is surrounded by built in bench-style seating.

A unified whole of magnificence

The exterior of this home is nothing short of the picture of glamour. Its colours fit excellently with its surroundings. The windows allow for plenty of natural light to flow inside and make it difficult not to stand and gawk! Through the large, retractable glass doors we get a great view of the bottom floor, bright red sport’s car and all. The blending of symmetrical and asymmetrical elements of the home’s overall shape makes for a great depiction of contemporary architecture.
