Perched several storeys above the bustling streets of Hong Kong you will find this beautiful apartment designed by Arctitudesign. Not only does the place have an amazing view of the city, but also its own interior is a spectacle worth marvelling at. Due to the excellent execution of open planning, this sophisticated apartment is ideal for socializing and spreading out, a luxury in a big city. Ample natural light and fresh air are also able to flow in the space thanks to the large floor to ceiling windows as well as the open layout. We at homify cover many extraordinarily beautiful homes, and this one has a kind of depth that isn't always easy to come by with interior design look books. What really makes this home special is how liveable, and lived-in the home appears. The home you will see today is filled with those genuine, personal touches that can only be achieved through years settling into and making memories in the space. Still this highly functional and liveable abode maintains its elegance. Come on this tour to see what we mean.

Tiny details from the start

Upon entering, we can already see how this space is filled with personal touches and how it accommodates its inhabitants. The slippers symbolize the cosiness this couple must come home to upon entry. There are little knick-knacks, candles, and a place to put mail as well. Things that only come into place over time.

The black band running vertically down the door is pleasantly striking against the lovely shade of wood. This home feels inviting already!

Cosy colour scheme

The apartment opens up to a stunning open plan layout. Starting with the kitchen and dining room we see that situated on the lovely pine table is a tasteful tea set poised to be enjoyed by family and friends. The prevailing creams, greys, browns, and beiges are brought to life as they are adorned with personal mementos and brightly illuminated. As for the shelving fixture, it yields many personalise decorations and necessities, all of which have been chosen with care.

Grand and expansive

Shifting our focus to the other half of the open plan we see this large, comfortable corner sofa with an enticingly plush rug. The decorative pillows add the right touch of colour and pizazz. The grand piano is nicely showcased in the space as well. Its glossy black finish stands out against the backdrop of more neutral colours. The apartment certainly appears expansive from this angle.

Matching the view

There’s that view we were talking about. It must feel inspiring to sit at this nook and ponder at life below. The small details: decorative candle holders, a friendly note, journal and magazine help us to imagine spending a leisurely weekend afternoon at this vantage point. The colours of the wooden windowsill and the decorations reflect the scheme of the skyline.

Couple's slippers to couple's bathroom

The bathroom is minimalistic but the colour tones, lighting, and linens make it feel luxurious nonetheless. It is ideal for the couple that lives here as the washing area is symmetrical, save for the semi-cantilevered nature of the washing stand. The mini shelves in between the couples’ mirrors is perfect for stowing all those little odds and ends that accumulate around the sink and vanity.

Bedroom fit for a king

Around the corner from the bathroom is this intimate bedroom. Much like the large sofa, this king sized bed is neutral with the added colour pop of some decorative pillows. The bed fits with room to spare in the room, a final testament to the home’s spacious design. The tepee coat rack adds a playful touch to the room that is reminiscent of the ladder linen rack in the bathroom. Lastly, the wood and white bedside table adds a mod-vintage touch.
