Remodeling. You can associate the term with negative concepts like too much money, too much time, and not enough output, or you could do what this couple did and say forget that garbage, we want a new space without spending all of our money and give remodeling a positive spin. The first step in this endeavor is to find a reputable architect who will take your tastes and transform them into supreme interior design and won't make you go broke in the process.

The architects on this project were from Estudio Ideas and they turned a boring and lifeless apartment into a home full of energy, modernity, and joviality. Come take this tour and see for yourself how each unattractive corner was given new and exciting life.

Before: a non-warming welcome

Our first look at the old mess that was left behind is the front door. The tone is a dull beige and the deteriorated ceramic floors make this space extremely unpleasant to walk in to, and an even more unpleasant environment for a young couple with a contemporary lifestyle.

A wrecked kitchen

This kitchen, being one of the most important spaces in a house, looked simply deplorable with an impractical and nonfunctional configuration, in addition to having a very old-fashioned and out-of-date decoration.

The social area

We think you can see why we put social area in quotations. To call it that is a very big stretch. This area has space for a living and dining room and despite the small size of the apartment, this space has a lot of potential. Of course, you'll get to marvel at that in just a bit.

Washed out

The excellent natural lighting is a plus point that gives this space an advantage way before even being renovated, but its floors and walls in neutral, washed tones made it look sad, as if it were crying out for a change.

A promising accent

The bedroom of the young couple had a red wall, which they liked very much, and they asked the architects to somehow maintain this type of accent in the design of the remodeling. Speaking of which, we're ready to reveal the final result!

The project: an exciting entrance

Does this colour look familiar? Well it should, as it's the same red as we just saw in the bedroom. Combined with the white walls, this space has a new interesting contrast that begs the question what else does this home have to offer? Oh, and did we mention they did away with those ceramic tiles? Now we have lovely laminate that imitates the ever-popular hardwood floor–a much more economical option.

A dashing new kitchen

The laminate material wasn't just used for the floor, but also for some walls in the apartment, and next to the striking red colour of the cabinetry, it's a perfect fit. Stark black work surfaces give this design a modern edge and a whole new face.

New and improved living area

In this space, we also have the same flooring and wall cladding, but what's also different is the twist in the painting. The architects introduced a brown tone that complements the red colour of the living room furniture, as well as the classic combination of black and white in the dining room.

Stepping up their game

In the bedroom, the same architectural language continues, using the red accent colour over a background of the wood-textured coating. This space is modern, elegant, and very energetic in its character, but not so much so that it ruins the ability to sleep.

After: the kitchen

Inside the kitchen, nice white furnishings with dark-toned surfaces contribute to the warmth and elegance to this important place in the house–A great change that now invites you to cook and enjoy this place to the fullest!

Let's get social

The social area maintained the excellent lighting we saw earlier and the proposed design was followed, where the walls in certain parts become a continuation of the texture of the floor, combining the brown tone in the painting of other sections of the walls that go well with the colouration.

Different angles

Here we see a perspective from the living room to the kitchen, where we can appreciate the great change of the interior of this department and can see how it has acquired a much more modern and jovial character, just as the young couple had asked for.

An integral result

The project included the remodeling of the bathroom as well to create a completely integrated and uniform project, where each area of this home will have a continuity in the architectural language, thus creating a cohesion between the different spaces and making the quality of life for its residents increase considerably.

If you thought this home's design was awesome, we think you'll appreciate knowing a few different ways you can brighten up your home with red.
