Today we’re taking a trip to India, to tour a New Delhi dwelling that truly delights.  The astonishing apartment boasts a bountiful one hundred and fifty-eight square metre area with three bedrooms, and adjoins a club and cricket stadium on one side.  Brought to us by architects, Spaces Architects@ka, the apartment’s décor exudes modern elegance. Let’s take a look…

Elegance and symmetry

We begin our tour in the modern but undeniably elegant lounge. The home’s interior is largely defined by straight lines, with a wonderful sense of symmetry to it that makes the room appear balanced and orderly. The home as a whole features a lot of beige tones, with an emphasis on accents and artwork that bring more dynamism and colour to the space. The recesses in the ceiling give the room a distinct character, especially when combined with the strip lighting that lines the area.

The expansive open interior

Turning to face the other way brings the dining area in view, and allows us to survey the vast open-plan space in its entirety. If we look directly to the other side of the room we can see that the wall behind the dining table houses a huge window that floods the space with natural light; this combines with the large windows in the living room to ensure natural light permeates through the entire home.

The steps from the hallway/dining area down to the lounge are an interesting touch, and along with the symmetry of the living room and emphasis throughout the apartment on the artefacts and paintings that adorn the space, provide the home with a vaguely theatrical, almost Greco-Roman quality.

A modern mix of styles

The divine modern dining area is defined by a large glass table and accompanying leather chairs, but the space as a whole is hard to pin down. The large open space has a modern, almost minimalist aesthetic, but the sharp geometrical shapes of the ceiling and light fixtures hint at a little art deco influence.

Contrasting yet complimentary spaces

Stepping into one of the bedrooms brings a distinct change in décor, with a warmer colour palette replacing the neutral colours of the open-plan area, and yet the contrasting colour schemes are still brought together by a unifying beige background. The apartment was designed to create a different ambience in each space, but in such a way that still allows all the rooms to harmoniously coexist as one space.

An unconventional but impressive bathroom

The bathroom dazzles thanks to its unusual layout, abundant space a turquoise tiles. Once again we can see how the room has been given its own character and colour scheme, but at the same time it conforms to the rest of the apartment with its pronounced geometric shapes and beige tiles.

The mind-blowing master bedroom

The master bedroom is just jaw-dropping; look at all that space! The already sizable room feels even larger thanks to the exclusion of any large furniture pieces, and the wall-to-wall windows that flood the space with light. The comfortable chairs and coffee table by the window area a particularly nice touch providing a great spot to enjoy breakfast in the morning.
