Sometimes people opt to buy old outdated homes because they're cheaper than buying one that is brand new, and then somewhere along the road, when they've been able to garner enough savings, that's when they begin to renovate their homes into how they really want it to look like. Refurbishing and redesigning an old home is both exciting and difficult at the same time. Here, we'll show you how a 30-year-old home could be revived into a beautiful modern home

Before and after the transformation: the living room

When renovating a house, it is best to consult a professional so you won't encounter problems in the long run, there could be issues that may come along with an old house wherein you may need to re-wire most of the electrical. In this apartment, the ceiling is removed and replacing them with a new one with cove lights. the floor is also changed to a more clean and sleek finish. Then of course, using simple but chic furniture completes the stylish look that is sure to gain compliments from visitors.

Before and after the transformation: dining area

Before the transformation of the dining area had a traditional Japanese style dining space that eats up a lot of the space from the small apartment. Removing it made the apartment roomier while adding in a chest and a shelves for added storage space.

Before and after the transformation: simple elegance

When designing an apartment, every item should be chosen wisely in order to really open up the space and free it from clutter. As you can see, there is also another added storage space, on the left side of the wall is a sleek and modern pantry. Then there's the simple drop lights and a few furnitures that complete the simple and minimalistic design.

Before and after the transformation: room for more

Adding a wall panel to separate the the living room from the bedroom provides more privacy for the homeowner. The wall used could be a thin prefab wall to maximise the space. As for the living room, you'll see a white brick wall that adds a romantic and interesting texture to the room.

Before and after the transformation: bathroom

Using grey tiles give the bathroom a beautiful modern look. Another insight would be separating the bathtub from the shower area, then repositioning the sink to an area outside the shower.
