Whether it’s the Alps or the Pyrenees, there is something special about the mountain villages of Europe. They are impeccably quaint, and the scenic vistas they provide are utterly breathtaking. It’s no wonder that people often dream of retiring here or at least retreating for a relaxing getaway during the holidays.

Today on homify360 we will be exploring a modern ranch style home by Deu i Deu replete with rustic finishes and plenty of space to take in the gorgeous scenery. The home is so pleasant and cosy—both inside and out—that we bet whoever lives here might seriously consider making it their permanent home rather than a place to visit while on holiday. Plus, there are a few unique surprises that set this home apart from others like it. We hope you’ll join us as we tour this fantastic home!

Simple abode

From the exterior, the home appears simple and unpretentious. It is a split-level ranch that is sprawled over multiple elevations. The landscaping is simple, and there is a lovely veranda around the side for taking in the spectacular views afforded by the home’s elevation.

We also love this little setup in the foreground. What a great spot to take in the morning sun while enjoying a cup of coffee!

Idyllic veranda

Here we can get a closer look at the veranda. There is ample space for lounging and enjoying meals out here with friends.

The patio overlooks the mountainous scenery, and the roof provides shelter so that the homeowners can spend time out here even when it rains. The deep brown siding of the home goes beautifully with the blue sky and green landscape.

Neat and tidy sitting room

While the interior is replete with rustic finishes like the exposed timber beams in the ceiling, the living area is tidy and contemporary in style. The pale blue sofas, simple coffee tables, and white walls help the room to feel spacious. Plus, there is plenty of natural light in the space thanks to the well-placed windows along the left side of the house.

Cosy fireside seating

In addition to the more formal sitting room there is another, more relaxed area for enjoying a toasty fire on a cool day. The picture window in the background offers wonderful views of the Pyrenees for days when it’s too cold to enjoy them outside. The raw wooden tree stump coffee table is yet another splendid rustic detail incorporated into the home.

Rustic bedroom with fine details

The bedroom has the same raw wooden finishes as the other areas in the home, and it also holds some delicate details that give its overall rusticity a more sophisticated charm.

For instance, this antique faded blue headboard is ultra-feminine. The balance between pieces like this and the overall rustic atmosphere of the home creates a fantastic finished product.

Surprise! Home spa included

Beyond the basics of any well appointed home in the mountains, the design team decided to throw in this wellness spa. The space is complete with a hot tub, and the large stone tiling creates a relaxing getaway from the low-key hustle and bustle there is in the daily life of those dwelling in this serene home in the mountains.
