The famous seaside town of Noordwijk aan zee boasts multiple attractions. The shoreline is dominated by vast dunes. Large flower fields, located just outside the city’s limit, weave a multi-coloured cape for this small town. Aptly, it is sometimes called the floral resort of Europe.

Today we will show you a beautiful holiday house set on a scenic plot of this beautiful town. Come take a closer look…

Exterior of the house

The owners decided to build a small holiday accommodation in a peaceful corner of the city. The wood-clad home is set in a lush green garden. The building is designed by Hoeb Architectuur & Interieur

The owners specifically asked them to build a house that enjoyed ample sunlight and that used sustainable materials. They were also staunchly against the idea of chopping off or harming any of the trees on the existing plot. Those working on the project needed to follow these instructions closely.

Outdoor study

For a change we will begin our survey from an outdoor study. It is not something we get to see very often. Due to the fear of noises and disturbances, studies and home offices are seldom built outside. But when the surrounding is so peaceful it is better to complete work in a space like this.

If one is involved in creative work, there will be no shortage of inspiration in a study area like this one. It is decorated with simple furnishings that are lightweight and portable.

Patio

This could actually be considered a small home with a large patio! From floor to ceiling, it is entirely covered in wood. It houses a small entertainment and dining area. You can see tables and chairs in a range of colours and materials occupying this space.

A number of potted plants also increase the beauty of this modern patio. There aren’t many people who would not be tempted to walk barefoot on a green lawn like this.

Living room

Only a small part of the living room can be seen from here. It is decorated with a bright red sofa and chairs. It also has a modern TV cabinet and simple ledges installed on the wall behind. They are embellished with a few sculptures and other works of art.

One can easily obtain generous views of the surroundings through the large sliding doors and windows.

Kitchen

Except for grey stone flooring and matching worktops, the small kitchen is nearly all white. The cabinets occupy the majority of the space under the kitchen counter. This small space also doubles up as a laundry room.

The owners can enjoy the beauty of the garden even from this space. The two single-hung windows keep the small kitchen sunny and cheerful all day long.

Garden

The garden, enclosing the building from all sides, is the biggest asset of this vacation home. The garden door is accessible via a wooden walkway that bridges over a small canal. The fences are entirely covered by large hedges, and small trees are scattered over the private compound. The gate itself sends a fair but firm message to outsiders—entry to this paradisaical home is on an invite only basis.
