There are so many beautiful homes that are specifically designed to make the absolute most of the warm summer months.

These are designed by experts  professionals who know how to create stunning, cutting-edge architecture that maximizes natural light and ventilation.

Today, we are going to witness how these designers, Tuncer Sezgin Ic Mimarlik, have not only created a beautiful summer getaway that any Canadian would find appealing, but have also managed to create it out of the ashes of a run down, dilapidated structure that was in serious need of some love and attention.

Let's have a look at this incredible before and after!

Before: Building site

In the before images, we can see that the previous home was more like building site! The walls were falling apart, the floors are just cement and the windows don't exist! It's hard to picture this space being anything more than a pile of rubble.

Before: The first floor

During construction on the first floor, we can see how the kitchen, living room and entrance hall were in total chaos. According to the designers, there was a big problem with damp in the home so a renovation was desperately needed!

Before: The Facade

From this angle we can see that the home is quite big and comprised of two levels. Perhaps we can even see a little bit of the potential that it holds!

The facade is in desperate need of a make-over, however. The walls are a horrible pale pink color and the roof design is very old-fashioned.

After: The first floor

Can you believe the dramatic transformation? The ground floor, which features the kitchen, living room and entrance hall is now fully tiled, creating a very sleek and modern look and feel.

We can see that the designers have gone for very neutral and soft colors, which makes the revamped space look that much lighter and brighter. Can you see how much gorgeous natural light is filtering in through the window? This makes a huge difference to a home!

After: Stylish living room

If we look at the living room more closely, we can see how trendy and serene it is.

The designers have opted for beige and white sofas and armchairs, while the patterned cushions add a bit of texture, color and tone to the space.

There is also a large, rectangular mirror which hangs on the wall, above the sofa. This is a great decor accessory as it not only looks beautiful but it also makes a room look that much bigger!

After: Modern staircase

The staircase is incredibly elegant and sophisticated, but still resembles the staircase we saw in the construction phase of the project.

The designers have completely updated this look, however, installing wooden stairs and sleek, silver railings. Wooden stairs are a great addition to any home, transforming a functional element into gorgeous decor.

Have a look at these wooden staircases that wow.

After: Interactive spaces

If we step inside the kitchen, we can see how this home is now a very social and interactive space for the whole family.

The kitchen flows into the living room, but remains slightly separate thanks to the careful placement of furniture. This allows the parents to keep an eye on the kids while in the kitchen!

Lighting is also key to a modern and sophisticated home and in this image, we can see how the kitchen lighting has been revamped. A sleek silver lamp hangs down over the cooking area, which allows the chef to see exactly what they are doing without affecting the ambiance in the living space.

Before: The bathroom

If we make our way upstairs, we can see how certain spaces have completely evolved thanks to the intervention of these innovative and creative architects and designers.

The bathroom,  for example, is like something out of a bad 1960's film! The walls are a pale pink and do nothing to enhance the old-fashioned cabinets and mirror. The shower is also so out of date. You would never feel relaxed or pampered in this spot.

After: Modern magic

Can you believe the difference?

The old bathroom has been completely restored with chic, earthy toned tiles, a modern dark wood cabinet, a trendy basin and a mirror that looks like it comes straight out of a spa!

You'll also notice that there isn't much clutter or chaos in this space—only the functional and necessary items are on display. This is a great tip for a small bathroom!

Before: Depressing state of affairs

While we are on the subject of bathrooms, let's have a little peek at this old guest toilet.

It's a plain, vanilla white with no decor items and no color. It is so bland, depressing and uninspiring!

The features are also very out of date—there is nothing stylish about this spot.

After: Shades of grey

Do you see how introducing a few neutral shades can transform a space?

In this bathroom, the designers have installed a grey cabinet with a modern stone basin, which makes this place seem so much more tranquil and appealing. Now this is a spot where you can relax in a bubble bath after a long day!
