This project, called Project Willa Parkowa, is an upper-end apartment remodel in Katowice, Poland that features completely upgraded and modern appliances, floors, windows, mouldings, lights and doors.

The design aesthetic is a real cool modern Scandinavian look, with blues, greys and whites working nicely with various natural wood finishings to achieve an invigorating, spacious atmosphere, perfect for a single family, in the heart of an urban area. Let's take a closer look…

Exceptional bathroom fixtures

This flat's bathroom really stands out for its functional fixtures: a modern, thick, wishbone-shaped wash basin is arguably the favourite feature, with its uni-tap and soap dispenser jutting subtly from the white tiled lower wall. The mirror has been lined with blue-white LED lighting for the most realistic reflection possible.

The toilet and bidet are in a classic round shape and made of pure white quality porcelain, backed up onto a dark mahogany cover wall that merges nicely with the mismatched, lighter wooden floors. The whole room allows for small or big touches of colour in the accessory design, like with the small, turquoise, built-in cubby shelf or the bright green window plant.

Easy dining, easy living

The dining room off the kitchen and double living room leads onto the hallway/foyer/entrance, which itself has been redone with the same wood and cool colour theme. The dining area boasts fine pine wooden floors, matching dining table and mismatched retro chairs, lit by bobble vintage hanging lamps.

Design dos of this room include the cubby seating area off the side of the room and the blue and white wallpapered accent wall, which creates a dynamic texture throughout the whole area.

Denim gem

Denim sofas have officially been put on our radar—what a cool and cosy room this has been turned into! Is denim the new black? It has the warm-cool of blue whilst still being able to match with pretty much everything.

Instead of a turquoise armchair, one could just as well imagine this living room sofa paired with a hot red or burnt orange one. Aside from that, the open plan of this main living space is so welcoming!

A relaxing office

Again, the cool colour scheme persists in the study/office, whose walls have been entirely done with baby-navy blue paint and square-circle wallpaper, which carries a silvery tint.

The main problem seems to be which spot—the desk, the lush velvet chair or the window seat—should you choose to use whilst doing your work?

An extra living room

Instead of creating the extra space into a closed-wall bedroom, designers have unconventionally decided to put in glass doors, creating a whole new living room for watching television. The room is sound-proofed but not visually cut off from the dining, kitchen, entrance or other living room. They again use a denim sectional sofa that pops off, with two brightly coloured armchairs set out against the red and black brick accent wall—TV time!

We think the designers here have done quite job of bringing this apartment into its full, livable potential. If you agree and would like to see another amazing design, check out the furnishing touches on a modern Italian home!
