Holding a degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and a Master of Architecture and Urban Design from Harvard University, Gilberto L. Rodríguez has lectured at several universities in Mexico and has given design workshops at both the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and the Universidad de Monterrey.

His first project built, the Elizondo House, won a mention of honor at the National Biennial of Mexican Architecture in 1994. Throughout his career he has been recognized with over 20 National Design Awards, rewarding their commitment to improve the quality of the architecture of their city and their country.

His firm, GLR arquitectos has developed a wide portfolio that includes residential projects as well as important mixes use developments, being in charge of both the architecture and the interior design. Using a sober, contemporary language supported by the warmth of different natural materials, his spaces acquire a timeless quality free of trends. He is currently working on project for several cities in Mexico, United States and Saudi Arabia.

Among his most distinguished proyects are the Miravalle Towers, Urbania, Tec Houses 167, 189 and 202 as well as the recently finished Magma Towers. This last one resulted winner at the A+Awards from Architizer based in New York, The Iconic Awards based in Germany and currently finalist in the World Architecture Festival based in Singapore.

The studio is currently working on several projects of high buildings in various projects of high-rise buildings, among which "Park Towers", a mixed-use complex of 80,000 m2, which will have a residential tower with 30 levels, an office tower, and three commercial levels.
