Spazio|23 is an architecture and design studio founded in 2012 by the architects Massimiliano Masellis, Salvatore Barone and Andrea Liguori. based in Palermo city centre (Italy).
As if it were a sort of “idea box”, its project and research development is articulated in some fields, such as architectural and fashion design, through the contribution of excellent partners in every single field. As far as design is concerned, Spazio|23 relies on the collaboration of the architects Andrea Lombardo and Maurizio Matasso experts on 3d modelling, and in 2013 set up a business cooperation network with some of the most important artisans working in Sicily. The aim, to re-launch Made in Sicily craftsmanship, through the expression of contemporary Design. The enthusiasm, coherence and perseverance have enabled Spazio|23 Architecture and Design to take part in some of the most important international events, like Il Salone del Mobile (furniture exhibition) in 2013 in Milan, Made 2013 in Milan, Light+Building in 2012 in Frankfurt, and to receive acknowledgments like “nomination for exemplary project in a national territory to requalify properties confiscated by the mafia” for the realization of the Project Mandarinarte, development groups of Ciaculli (a suburban area of Palermo and notorious Mafia stronghold ), in cooperation with Acunamatata ONLUS with the recognition of the Foundation for the South.
